The Triad of Change
Have you ever made a change in life that was effortless and natural?
Have you ever experienced unexpected pain or suffering as a result of making a change?
The Triad of Change was likely behind these experiences...
The Triad of Change is a tool one can use to understand how one best works with change in life. It helps guide us to make changes that achieve a higher level of organization, particularly with respect to energy and resources. Each experience we have can be looked at in the three modes of the Triad: Structure, Perception and Behaviour.
A container or medium for energy and information exchange; perhaps relating to time and place or a plan.
Examples include one's body, a schedule, a location or an organizational chart.
A pattern or manner of actions; an expression of an internal state that can be observed externally; actions and reactions with the external environment; purposeful movement towards a goal or objective.
Examples include moving a limb, washing dishes, or dancing.
A chosen perspective; a mode or style or manner of focus; the connection between body sensation, focus and meaning.
Examples include optimism/pessimism, perceiving using compassion and being aware of one's body sensations.
If we know what order in which to use these three modes in to bring us success, we can be empowered to increase our resources and resourcefulness. We can move forward in that direction and gain energy and information. If we are also aware of which combination brings us to pain or suffering, then we can be sure not to use this combination, so that we don't end up dropping to a lower level of organization.
