Green Living, Green Practice

We at Lifesource advocate sustainable living and practice conservation wherever possible in all our operations.  From the electricity we consume and the waste that we produce, to the hosting of this website, the environment is always part of our awareness.

Here are a few ways that we work the 3 R's:

We source our energy and gas through Just Energy which produces 100% green electricity to replace the energy taken from the grid. Just Energy also purchases green energy credits on our behalf to offset our gas usage making Lifesource a carbon neutral practice.
    • We do most of our work digitally and online to reduce paper waste.
    • We use 100% recycled paper for all our everyday printing.
    • All single-sided paper is reused, with the exception of paper containing confidential client or business information.
    • We supply reusable mugs and cups at our beverage station
    • Our special events are catered with local organic food served on reusable plates, with real spoons and forks.
    • We provide the option of using cloth hand towels instead of disposable paper in our washroom facilities.
    • We clean our office using only people and environment-friendly cleaning products
    • We use fabric facecloths on our Chiropractic tables as opposed to the traditional disposable paper.
    • We give home to a large collection of plants that help filter the air in the office and promote growth.
    • We purchase 100% or partially recycled paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues and other supplies, and we do so in bulk quantities to reduce packaging.
    • We use a programmable thermostat to insure that our building isn't heated or cooled unnecessarily.
    • We use natural light from the sun whenever possible, in place of electric lights.
    • We actively recycle as much of our waste as possible.
    • We use public transit on our commutes to and from work to help reduce greenhouse emissions and support sustainability.
    • On off days, we telecommute, reducing transportation needs.
    • Perhaps most importantly, we are always consciously looking for new ways to green our process. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. We'd love to hear from you!
